We were delighted to host Marsh Malik, a young local Pakistani female, who has excelled herself not only academically but in sports. Marsha has always had an interest in sports. She has achieved a lot and has taken all the opportunities given to her. She played at Wimbledon in 2015 for the under 16’s team, entered many competitions, the list is endless, until she had a fatal injury. After completing her Maths degree at Aston University, she continues to balance a graduate scheme that involves studying for her ACCA qualification whilst playing in the National League. Marsha continues to play for Solihull Moors Football Club, this is where she was scouted for Karachi United Women’s Team. She was invited out to play for Pakistan this summer. Marsha said, “Managing these commitments takes strong time management and dedication, but it’s also an opportunity to develop skills, professionally and athletically”. She hoped to inspire more young girls to pursue their passions and achieve their goals, no matter how challenging they may seem.

"An inspirational talk led by Marsha Malik and a role model to Washwood Heath Academy pupils talking about sport and careers and how both have had a positive impact on her life. Nice to also hear Marsha talk about her challenges and cultural challenges she has experienced and overcome with her football and how the girls responded to this information. I would definitely recommend having Marsha come back into Washwood Heath again in the future to deliver more inspiring sessions to our young girls."- Miss Edwards - Assistant Head of PE and LTL for Vocational Faculty

"It was great to have Marsha in on Thursday. All the girls really responded well to her relaxed presentation style and it was a great opportunity for our girls to see the different pathways they could go down alongside traditional academic subjects."- Mrs Rabin - Head of PE
